ORCHESTRATING WINNING PERFORMANCE


Expected Learning Results:
By the end of this orientation module the participants will
1. Learn contemporary modes and practices of "strategizing" so that they deepen their     understanding of their own managerial challenges.
2. Learn the basics on self management and its integral role in organizational and individual     renewal.
3. Clarify their personal learning objectives for the whole EMBA-program. An individual and     "Learning Partner"-team process will be orchestrated for meeting these objectives.
4. Be energized and anxious for meeting any challenges the following modules of the program     offers.

Prework:
The following preparatory work is assigned for each participant:
1. A (light) package of readings (attached).
2. Reflection and specification of the 1-3 most important current or future managerial     challenges.

Instructor: Dr. Timo Santalainen, President, STRATNET (Geneva) and Adjunct Professor, HSE, will facilitate, spar and coach the "Orchestrating winning Performance"- module with Mme Hannele Järvenpää, the Program Director.

                          1 - 2 kuukautta ennen ulkomaista opintomatkaa

Opetuskieli:      Kurssijakson samoin kuin ulkomaisen opintomatkan käyttökieli on englanti

Objectives       Upon completing the course the students will know

  • the key concepts and practical approaches in multinational business management
  • be familiarized with contemporary issues and recent developments in multinational business management
  • possess an improved understanding on cross-cultural issues, especially relating to the country of their study tour
  • have readiness for multinational benchmarking and commitment to apply new ideas learned through bencmarking

  • In order to pass the course the students must n do the prework (readings)
  • participate and contribute in class during each of the four main modules
